However, what has happened in all parts of the world shows that there is risk of measles resurgence even after elimination, therefore there is a need for precise planning and community-based training to prevent the onset of illness. According to UNICEF, measles was far too contagious a disease to be ignored and urged health officials to do more to fight it.
